Window Bling

I’m all into bling, especially when it comes to light and rainbows.  My new creations below are about 10″ to 12″ long and are perfect for any window.  The handmade lampwork beads are made by Don Hohensee, Liz Bunn and Wanda Karcher.  The crystal is by Swarovski.

Don makes the most wonderfully fluid fish. This one is in topaz and black. At the top is one of his tiger beads and then two small topaz beads dangling around. And, of course, Swarovski crystal.

I call this one "Safari Nights" with a red sunset setting low in the sky. Don's tiger beads are the highlight, and Swarovski is the crystal.

A purple and red "water bead" is the centerpoint of this primarily Swarovski crystal piece. Don made the bead with it's ripply surface.

Don's seashell takes center stage on this sweetheart hanging. I found some glass seashells for accent along with a few rose quarts round beads. The rest is Swarovski crystal.

Lampwork Bead Totems

Liz Bunn makes the most stunning beads.  She has had her beads in our Houston store for a few years now and we’ve collaborated on a few art creations.  In the last year Liz has created some really extraordinary beads like her sewing machine bobbin beads, and now her big big (really big) beads.  These big beads fired my imagination.  So, I whipped out my paints and made some fanciful bases, adding odornments and small Liz beads here and there.  The Bead Totems were built to display Liz beads, with silver beads to separate and display each bead at it’s best.  Besides the big big bead, most of the totems have one or two of her bobbin beads, along with numerous beads of all shapes and sizes.  I made three prototypes to show Liz.  She liked them too, so I spent this whole week creating 14 more!  Liz and I hope you enjoy them too.  They range from 7″ to 8″ tall and are $85.00 each.

By the Light of the Moon

The Swarovski topaz moon provides light to the forest creatures below, represented by the largest of animals, the elephant, and one of the smallest, the frog.

This wall hanging was created with bamboo, agate, jade, along with beads from foreign lands.  There are four bells, three that have lost their clangers long ago.  The elephant is a mysterious metal, and the frog is either agate or jade. The two glass beads were made by Liz Bunn.
